Password Protected Directories in Shared Website Hosting
Creating a password-protected area shall take no more than a few clicks and a few seconds if you host your websites within a shared website hosting account with us. You'll not have to do anything complicated - you'll have to choose a domain/subdomain, to choose which folder under it has to be protected, and then to type the login name and password that'll be used to access that folder. If a number of people require their own login details, there shall not be a problem to create numerous different usernames with access to the same exact folder. All secured folders shall appear with a padlock icon inside the File Manager section, so you shall always know where this feature is active. If you wish to turn off the protection function for any folder, you can deactivate it from the exact same section of the CP where you have enabled it.
Password Protected Directories in Semi-dedicated Servers
It will take several clicks to activate the password protection feature for any folder that you have, in case you use one of our semi-dedicated plans. We have an exceptionally handy tool, which has a user-friendly point-and-click interface and which can be used by people without any experience. It is part of the Hepsia Control Panel, that you will get to manage your new account and as soon as you log in and go to the Password Protection section, you shall be able to select the domain or subdomain that should be secured and then the particular folder - either the primary folder or any subfolder under it. You shall also see 2 boxes where you will have to enter the login name and the password which will be required to access the folder in question and you will be ready. By following precisely the same steps, you will be able to set up many different login credentials for the same folder to give several individuals their own username/password. All protected folders will feature a small padlock sign in the File Manager section.
